Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. A Real Change Campaign to Lower Your Gas Prices

Help us keep fuel prices low by signing the Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less petition today!

(Fayetteville, AR)--The Arkansas Federation of Republican Women today encouraged Arkansans fed up with soaring gas prices to express their support publicly for more domestic energy production. Those interested can sign the petition "Drill here. Drill now. Pay less." at www.AmericanSolutions.com, a site directed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
"Say 'yes' to problem-solving, say 'yes' to taking action," Britton said. "Sign the petition to demand change on energy production. We've already waited too long and Americans are paying the price for it now. This petition will soon be presented to members of Congress and Americans need to let their leaders know that we're in a crisis and that higher taxes on oil companies and further restrictions on production are the exact opposite of what we need."
Britton notes that liberal politicians in Congress have consistently blocked access to America's energy reserves: "We have 10 billion barrels of oil in ANWR. We have 20 billion barrels off our shorelines. And we have 1.2 trillion barrels in the oil shale of the Rocky Mountain West. Let's fuel our needs while at the same time creating thousands and thousands of good-paying U.S. jobs at a time when those are critically needed.
"American families feel crushed by weeks and weeks of record-high gas prices," Britton said. "We aren't just talking about cutting back on travel plans; some families are cutting back on food purchases. We have to take action immediately to explore and develop American energy sources in order to bring prices down. There's no quick fix, of course, and we have to continue our efforts at conservation and alternative energy sources but we have to accept that, for now, we depend on traditional energy sources and we need to do much more to take advantage of the resources that we have right here in our own country."

We need to call Senator Blanche Lincoln 202-224-4843 to tell her NO on the Warner-Lieberman energy bill then call Senator Mark Pryor 202-224-2353 and tell him the same! Here is why!http://www.afrw.net/warnerlieberman.htm

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember the election in 2006?
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.90 a gallon
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase)
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate(stock and mutual fund losses)
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure

No Judicial candidate has asked for the endorsement or support of the Arkansas Federation Of Republican Women.

We apply the wisdom of Ronald Reagan; "Trust but Verify", and "Don't be afraid to see what you see".

Judicial candidates are required to run non-partisan races not bipartisan races!
Voting for a candidate in a non-partisan race makes our task of electing conservatives to the bench complicated and difficult but not impossible. We can look at the candidates past history, their actions and words.

"Negative Campaigning Tarnishes The Judiciary"

Media Advisory

"Ron Williams says that negative campaigning tarnishes the Judiciary"

Rogers, AR – This weekend democrats throughout the seven (7) counties that make up the 3rd District Court of Appeals received a mail piece from Courtney Henry that states Ron Williams is engaging in “partisan politics” and suggests that Ron’s tenure on the Court would be marked by “partisanship, activism or radicalism”. Ms. Henry goes on to highlight a quote from John Brummett which ties Ron to “a cabal of Hutchinsons and Holtists”. See attached mail piece.

Ron Williams has not engaged in partisan politics and to suggest that Ron would engage in partisanship, activism and radicalism from the bench is absurd. More importantly, Ron Williams rejects this type of negative politics in a judicial race because it tarnishes the judiciary.

Ron Williams has represented thousands of clients during his 33 year legal career and knows how important it is that the citizens respect the integrity and impartiality of the judges hearing their case. This is especially true when an individual is required to accept a negative ruling from the Court.

Negative campaigning in a judicial contest only gives citizens more reason to question the integrity and impartiality of the Courts.

In response to the negative mail piece, Ron Williams stated, “I have made a decision that nothing is worth tarnishing the very office I seek through the use of negative campaigning. When candidates for judicial office begin running their campaigns like typical politicians, judges will end up with the same approval ratings as typical politicians. We cannot afford to have our judiciary tarnished to such a degree.”

Ron went on to explain his thought process by saying, “If Ms. Henry wins this seat, I don’t want individuals before the Court of Appeals questioning her integrity and impartiality based on anything I might have said during the campaign. I hope Ms. Henry feels the same way.”
